Queen on trial for Sydney
Trainer Mike Moroney is taking a different approach with Eskimo Queen over the autumn and is likely to keep her to middle distance races.
The mare was penciled in as a promising stayer as a three-year-old after winning the Queensland Oaks but connections since then have twice been denied seeing her in feature Group 1 races to prove she is top class over a journey.
Following her Oaks win she started favourite in the Queensland Derby but lost rider Greg Childs during the run.
In the spring, she was one of the top picks for the Caulfield Cup and in the now infamous race was scratched after thrashing out in the gates.
She raced in the Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup but after the interrupted program finished sixth and 15th respectively.
