ON THE RACING FRONT!
Prime position for Pocket Power:
Mike Bass was smiling to no end as his star galloper, Pocket Power, drew an ideal barrier position for the 2008 running of the J&B Met.
The Horse of the Year and defending champion aims to become the first horse in history to win the J&B Met and Queen's Plate in consecutive years. He was given all the help needed to achieve this when his draw was announced.
Succesful Bidder was also drawn in the favourable 7 barrier position but Dean Kannemeyer had no luck with the barriers, when his runners Jagged Ice and Wonder Lawn drew 17 and 14 respectively.
Strong contender, Floatyourboat, drew a wide 15 while the other Bass inmates, Bill of Rights and Hilgrove, will let fly from 3 and 12 respectively.
